Alcibiades Berkley

To describe him as merciless would be too kind.
Fantastic Beasts Original Character.

Adolescence

{-} Alcibiades was born under the Pureblood house of Lekas in the core of Thessaloniki, Greece. A bustling, wealthy part of the country where he lived with his mother and three-year-old sister at the time, Dorothea. Although he had a family to look after, Aclibiades' father fled in the early morning to a disclosed location. Eleni, his mother, speculated it to be because of his paranoia that their home would be descended on by Muggle conspirators, living within a five-mile radius. Desperate over the sudden desertion of the siblings' birth father, Eleni would marry a drifter named Seabert Berkley. Just two years later, they moved to England to protect themselves from a Muggle uprising caused by none other than the conspirators.{-} Once arriving in England, the family settled on Berkley's Estate. It had been a peaceful five years for the family before Eleni would become victim of mysterious circumstances. The Ministry claimed the death was of natural causes, yet the subtle lacerations over her collarbone would leave Seabert to believe otherwise. He took in the Lekas children as his own whilst forming his own investigation over his late wife's death. Dorothea instantly took Seabert's surname, whereas eight year old Alcibiades rejected it, still coming to terms with his mother's unfortunate end.{-} Three and a half weeks later, Dorothea would leave the home to start her studies at Hogwarts, being sorted into Ravenclaw. Seabert would keep on his continuous studies, dragging the bored eight year old into the case. Thus, igniting his fascination with hazardous witches and wizards.{-} Finally, at the age of ten, Aclibiades caved in taking the Berkley surname, settling into the comforting feeling of a father figure. He departed for Hogwarts soon after.

Hogwarts

{-} Wand Type : 12 1/2 inch Holly Core wand with a Phoenix Feather.{-} Alcibiades was sorted into Slytherin. This was the first time he had been around peers his age, leaving him to take a more reserved stance throughout his early academic years. Most of the time, he could be seen in the library, reading about Dark Wizards and dueling. During his fourth year, to distance himself from others around him, Alcibiades would conceal his position in randomized places within the castle.{-} During his first four years at Hogwarts, Dorothea tried her best to look after her younger brother. However, with each oncoming year, their paths caused them to drift away from one another. Even with that, the young Berkleys' relationship was a decent one, being still rather vigilant of one another if something went awry.{-} His fifth year would prove to lay the foundation of his future endeavors. He wrote quite constantly with Seabert during the year, each letter given would gather more discovered details of Seabert's findings to confirm that Eleni had been murdered. In the majority of his letters, Seabert asks Alcibiades to destroy each incoming parchment after it was read in case he was being tracked. Although the risk of being found out was at bay, the boy only destroyed two letters, keeping the rest for himself to use as evidence to open his own set of investigations.{-} And that he did. In between schoolwork, Alcibiades would contemplate different theories of how his mother had been killed. By the end of his sixth year, he narrowed it down to one Dark Wizard in particular. Yet, before he could scheme his revenge, he had to ascertain the truth.

Career

{-} Before becoming Head Hit Wizard for Squad A, Berkley was meddling with dangers not for the likes of the rabbit-hearted. Knockturn Alley, doing dark and despising deeds for a man named Doc upon location was a part of his forte once he landed himself straight out of Hogwarts. Murder, robbery, you name it. All of it strapped to his namesake for a few solid years. That is until Dorothea implored him to seek other means of occupation to suit a better life.{-} From there, did Alcibiades strive to better himself. Leaving the employment of Doc and heading off to the Ministry to pursue a title in Hit Wizarding. With a persistent approach to excel within his field and find the proper circumstance for his mother's death, he quickly found himself the top of all under that occupational title. Thus, allowing him to rank up to be the Head of the Squad.

What Once was Love

{-} Believe it or not, yes, Berkley was in love. Keyword - was. Regan Layne had been selected promptly by Alcibiades himself once seeing her dedication and wit. What was an exceptional pick for his squad, soon turned into something more than he was ever intending. At first, Berkley didn't exactly know how to pinpoint such an emotion, but once speaking with Dorothea one night, it all appeared to be plainly drawn out in front of him.{-} No one was more rattled by the suggested encounter than Alcibiades himself. His sister finding clear enjoyment from his bewildered demeanor. For about four years, Alcibiades gave into the trapped heart, hollering at him to love her. And for the most part, he was content with the realities of how love could be conveyed.{-} Until, that is, one day, before heading into the Ministry, Regan tugged Alcibiades aside. Gathering so close to him for one last intake of him before addressing her transfer to Paris, to be closer to her ongoing case as well as her mother. Even with Berkley's pleas for her to stay, she declared their relationship at an end for the safety of her life, her mother's, and his. What would become a dreamland of his once love.

A New Awakening

{-} A little under a year would pass before Alcibiades would sense a spark of familiarity. The friend of endearment and adoration had come dancing in once again. This time, with Shena Fedal. One of his squad members.{-} Even though both meddled with coquettish mannerisms with one another, it was never truly clarified whether or not they considered associating what they are to a relationship standpoint. Perhaps the future will tell.

Berkley's Chosen Squad of Warriors

{Writer's Note : Most members of the squad are not affiliated with any account. They are mainly to build Alcibiades' backstory as the Head of the squad. Therefore, they are definitely subject to change. If you want to join the squad and/or RP one of the characters below, let me know! I'd love to add you! More the merrier. You are more than welcome to change anything about the character you would like as well; name, backstory, ect. Go wild!}

Atlas Daedalus

{-} Atlas is the youngest and newest member of Squad A. He was acquired during the Auror's annual recruitment process. Seeing the boy's incoming prospects was quite easy to pick out once Berkley found him amongst the others. Young, yet quick with his wand. With proper training, he would prove to be a wondrous addition to the Squad. And so, Atlas was proposed with the offer of becoming a Hit Wizard rather than Auror.{-} He's declared as the most naive out of the group and even though Alcibiades despises that sort of trait from any of his warriors, he finds Atlas' true potential of greatness. And he certainly is one of Berkley's favorites.

Regan Layne

{-} Regan slipped her way into the squad by pure luck, so some say. Others would defend the reasoning of it for Alcibiades intimate relationship he had with her. However, the real truth for her success within the group was her strong willed attitude, shoving the boys out of the way. She displayed anything but weakness, which is a possibility of why he found himself madly in love with her. Even if he didn't really know what it was in the beginning.{-} Her near ruthless mindset demonstrated her place without any questions asked. Regan would depart from Squad A, a mere four and a half years later to focus more on her mother's wellbeing and an underway case she devoted herself to. Her choice in leaving ceased their relationship on a sore note.

Shena Fedal

{-} Shena would accompany the Hit Wizard Squad along with Ilya. Both had been in the same recruiting section. Clever and slick, using all of her charm against her foes, but don't let the facade fool you. She is known to be anything but sweet when on a case.{-} Later, Berkley found himself locked within love's grasp once again. The two have a complicated relationship, not yet defining what title they claim to be.

Ilya Zimandorf

{-} A cunning, soft rebel. The advantage being his sharp tongue and dueling skills that put him above the rest. Ilya is very good at switching accents if need be for any unusual case requiring stealth.{-} He's mainly sanguine when a case proves to be something other than easy. A trait Aclibiades is quite fond of, even sometimes desiring to be like him. Not that he'd ever say that out loud.

Otto Everill

{-} The cheekiest bandit in Sqaud A. Otto keeps the title secure for ever how long he can. A bit of a maniac, but they love him.{-} He had been trapped in a overblown riot during a Quidditch Championship game, causing him to go blind in his left eye. As Squad A had been assigned to settle the fumes within, Berkley managed to save Otto's life. In return, Otto had insisted on dedicating his worth to Alcibiades. It took a moment, but finally, he agreed to it.

Kainonne Prungsanapan

{-} Kain took it upon himself to approach Berkley out of nowhere, it appeared to be. A random wizard with an eager wave of excitement. At first, Berkley turned him down, yet come later with his line of trials, Kain showed to have what it takes to keep up with his Squad.{-} Those within the squad can describe him as rowdy and quite a pestering child at the best of times. However, when it comes to a case, he's quick to be one of the most dedicated. His skills are beyond him.

Malderich Jawforge

{-} One of Alcibiades most dedicated. Malderich has proven his steadfast and willing ability to put himself in the deadlists of agendas possible. Anything asked of him, he will certainly figure out how to do it without questions being asked.{-} Malderich applied just as Alcibiades had been promoted to Head of his Squad, making him the first official member of his squad. Both of them showcase their allegiance to one another in odd various ways. Therefore, they know they can rely on one another should they need that extra assistance.

Affiliations

{Writer's Note : Alcibiades' family is not affiliated with any account. However, if you would like to create an account for any of them or extended family, let me know! You can change anything you'd like to, name, backstory, ect. If you would like to be added to the list of affiliations that Alcibiades knows and you aren't already in the list, let me know that as well! I'll gladly include you. Thank you!}

Dorothea Berkley

{-} Dorothea is Alcibiades' elder sister. The two are rather protective of one another. Although, they have varied ways of dealing with situations. Despite their bickering here or there, they love one another and showcase it in rather odd ways in some circumstances.{-} Without Dorothea, he would have fully drowned in the Dark Arts. She was the one to keep him afloat through all of their hardships, thus the main reason for his ever devout demeanor towards her.

Eleni Berkley

{-} Eleni was the mother of Dorothea and Alcibiades. She passed away at the age of 29 years old, under mysterious circumstances that were never discovered by the proper authorities. Both children were extremely young at the time. Oddly enough, death played a large role in Alcibiades' upbringing and intruige.{-} From what Aclibiades could remebered of her, she was a kind soul. Nevertheless, she knew when to discipline if need be. A rarity, but it wasn't unorthodox for the two children.

Seabert Berkley

{-} The Drifter that would claim his mother's heart. He is the caretaker and step father of both Berkley children. After Eleni's death, Dorothea took in his surname almost instantly, whereas Alcibiades took a few years to become accustomed to it before taking it in as well.{-} Seabert was the main cause of Alcibiades persued becoming a Hit Wizard.

Theseus Scamander

{-} A rival? Sure, one could call him that, but in reality most people Alcibiades meets don't have a good first impression with him to begin with. Theseus being no exception to that cause. Therefore, rival seems to be entirely justified. It doesn't help that annually, Berkley comes around the Auror selection trials to steal a contender for his squad. But that is besides the point.{-} Theseus and Alcibiades' relationship is a rather cutthroat type. Alcibiades tends to bicker and pester him whenever he's bored or just wants to find drama in nonsense areas.

Achilles Tolliver

{-} Another rival on his agenda. Well, sort of. He doesn't have too much on Tolliver. In fact, he's only contacted him through work related efforts other than his own personal prodding. Weird, right?{-} Perhaps he is considered a rival based off of their standards and positions of work. Both men being Heads of their department is bound to clash somehow. Merlin only knows what will become of them.

Doc

{-} His previous employer. A man on whom Alcibiades mistakenly called a friend. Why? Well, for what else but naivety to discover his true potential. Doc is a cunning and very accomplished scammer for better terms. He can fool even the most bullheaded man into doing his terrible deeds for him.{-} Little did Alcibiades know, at the time, that Doc was the reason for his mother's death. He has yet to discover this truth.

Aelia Morgenstern

{-} His Little Star.
